Yoga is like a present I give myself each time I get on my mat. The sheer sence of release is enough to bring me back time and again. Release from stress, release from planning, release from life's responsibilities. Yoga allows me to be "in the moment" and only in that moment- and that to me is the gift of yoga. 

Teaching yoga is my greatest passion. As a teacher it is really important to me that I don't just instruct the people who come to my class, but rather that I pass on some form of knowledge and personal understanding. I have conducted continuous study of my trade through the attendence of workshops, events, trainings and self practice.

 

My teaching style is playful yet focused and accessible to all levels.

For me, yoga is the gift that keeps on giving. Been the most magical tool I've put in my tool box, it helps me heal, accept, shift aspects of myself I would otherwise be unaware of. Yoga for me isn't all unicorns and rainbows and that's what I love about it, stuff gets uprooted but all in the name of growth. And who doesn't want to grow?

 

My yoga classes are a journey of exploration where edges will be met with compassion.

Leave any expectations you have of me as a teacher and of yourself as a student outside and let's just met on the mat as humans.

I used to have a mind that never stopped. A constant tick, buzzing from thought to thought, flitting furiously from task to task. A niggling sense of dissatisfaction. A longing for otherness. Then. YOGA.


I’m not saying it was instant. Nor is it perfect. But what I am saying is that Yoga has helped me peel back the layers and discover a bit more about who I am. It has helped me to slooooow down. Find the pause in between the breath. Appreciate the skin we are in, and the life we have been given.


Join me on the mat for a gentle Vinyasa flow. Spend a little time working on you.

I have been practising yoga since 2011 and instantly fell in love with the ancient wisdom of this healing practice.  I completed my Yoga Teacher training in 2015 at Jivananda Yoga in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal.

 

I am accredited with Yoga Alliance and continue to further my knowlegde by attending workshops and events whenever possible. I teach a Vinyasa-style class with a focus on strong, creative and playful flows, and an emphasis on mindful movement and breath awareness.  

When I am not teaching or practising yoga, I work as a physiotherapist, enjoy spending time in nature, cooking and taking my dogs for long walks."

The early stages of my yoga journey were messy and turbulent; I didn’t find being on my mat particularly peaceful, for in the stillness, I would come face to face with parts of myself I had chosen to ignore. Yet, as time passed, I began to meet my edge and soften. 

The enjoyment of alignment and integrity to each posture, graceful movement and flow, and importantly showing up and being present with whatever comes up is what I take from my yoga practice.

Yoga has profoundly shifted my relationship with my body and how I treat it , how I relate to self and how I connect with others. Everyday it is bringing me closer to a better version of myself.
Expect dynamic flows, integrity of postures, strength-building through graceful movement, and a focus on mobility. Explore a deeper connection with your body, and find a sense of stillness in the mind.

I am a Chiropractor, Homeopath and Yoga teacher. My  interests in the therapeutic benefits of movement and gentle preventative care on health and wellbeing allowed me to explore yoga. 


I have been practicing yoga for more than 20 years, 10 of which have been dedicated to teaching Hatha, Vinyasa and
Astanga.

 

Expect a strong anatomical and physiological approach to my classes which are grounded in a deep understanding of the philosophy of yoga.

Like all of you, I have been living with stress, anxiety, anger, depression and all sorts of exhausting emotions, and it has taught me so much about taking care of my self – inside and out. Although I still live with ALL of these feelings, I now know there is a sacred space I can enter where I can find peace and solace.

 

I provide mindfulness solutions to individuals, groups and companies around Kwa-Zulu Natal, creating lasting inner peace that transforms the negative effects brought upon by modern daily living.

I have worked in complementary health since my mid-twenties. In 2015 I discovered Sound therapy and its benefits, that I knew I had to learn more about it and share it with others.

I attended The International Association of Sound Therapy in Spain, in the summer of that year, and set up my practice on my return to Durban. I have a private practice in Kloof and now also work at the Rainbow Oncology Centre in Hillcrest once a week.

“In my work I have had the opportunity to help a variety of ailments (including cerebral palsy, cancer, tinnitus and stress related issues) and have seen remarkable, positive results. I know that sound therapy is a powerful tool in helping the body regenerate and heal itself.”
