About Yin

Yin is so much more than simply holding poses for a long time. In order to truly benefit from Yin one needs to have a firm grasp of Taoist philosophy and yin anatomy. Yang does not exist without yin, and yin does not exist without yang. It is the balance of these two energies that creates harmony (tao). How balanced is your yin?

This course will cover the following topics

  • History of Yoga and Origin of Yin Yoga

  • Yin Yoga Anatomy with emphasis on Fasia

  • Introduction to Taoist philosophy with emphasis on ying/yang

  • Introduction to Meridians and Chinese Medicine

  • 5 Elements of TCM

  • Fundamental Yin Poses

  • Use of props and adjustments

  • Sequencing a class

  • Mindfulness Meditation and Breath work

To teach Yin Yoga you must be 200 hour qualified. However, practitioners wishing to deepen their understanding of Yin Yoga are welcome to join too.

Non- 200 hour teachers will not be qualified to teach.
